Formal Consultation on Admission Arrangements for September 2019
In accordance with the requirements of the current legislation, I write to provide you with the details of the admission arrangements, which Southend-on-Sea Borough Council proposes for admission to community schools from September 2019. The consultation also includes own admission authorities that are part of the review of catchment areas.
I should be grateful if you could bring this consultation to the attention to the parents of your school, nursery or early years setting, to assist me in reaching as many parents of children aged 2 to 18 (as required by (144.a) of the School Admissions Code).
I invite you, your parent/s and wider community to make any comments or observations by completing the online or paper response form by 5pm on Friday 15th December 2017. We want as many local people as possible to have their say, so please access the proposals and the response form online at: www.southend.gov.uk/schoolconsultation I am also sending you posters to place on noticeboards, which you should receive later this week.
We are also holding an open session on 23 November from 6.30-8.30 pm at the Civic Centre for people to talk to those involved. Parents/carers can register for this session by visiting: www.southend.gov.uk/schoolconsultation and clicking on the EventBrite link.
Applications for admission to the school must be made in accordance with the co-ordinated admission scheme operated by the child’s home local authority. For children resident in Southend-on-Sea this is published in the Coordinated Admission Scheme available the website of Southend-on-sea Borough Council.
