HEALTHY LIVING CENTRE in St Luke’s Ward

The St Luke’s Healthy Living Centre Community Interest Company, chaired by Mr Gulley, is continuing its work towards the establishment of a Centre dedicated to the well-being of local people of all ages.

With considerable support from the Primary Care Trust and the Department of Health Pathfinder Unit, the company is in discussions with many individuals and organisations to ensure the best possible opportunities for all our residents.

The Directors are pleased to confirm that they have employed a Social Enterprise Director, Gareth Gault, to lead the development of this project.

This is a major success of which we’re all very proud, and shows how the FullServiceExtendedSchool can work for the benefit of all community members to address their expressed needs.

We anticipate that some services will be available before the Centre opens, and we’ll keep you up-to-date with progress.

Temple Sutton Children’s Centre continues to thrive, offering full day and sessional childcare and is developing its facilities for families to access health professionals, parenting support and job-seeking advice.

The Junior Children’s Minister, Kevin Brennan MP, visited our school in January, with colleagues from the Eastern Region Government Office. Our visitors were very impressed with what they saw and heard about the school and its role as a Full Service Extended School. Mr Brennan was particularly pleased to talk to the children, and even enjoyed a quick game of table tennis while he was here!

Our Family Lending Library is open from 3.30 to 4.30pm every weekday in termtime and on Tuesday mornings from 9.15am Mrs Glen welcomes a parent/toddler group for stories and refreshments – just drop in!
